[ACNE] Aid! I tried using a tool (the metal loop thing?) to remove pimples. and right now I feel completely lost and overwhelmed

So my fiancé and I recently got one of those metal tools with two loops on each end, meant to squeeze out pimples. :hammer_and_wrench:

I wasn’t going to use it at all (my fiancé got it for his blackheads), but I tried it on a whim for fun, and wow… :astonished:

Nearly everywhere has something inside?! :exploding_head:

White pus is hidden everywhere??!

Ever since, I’ve been obsessed with using this thing, and I think I may be using it too much. But now that I know my face is hiding all this stuff—ugh! I feel lost, distraught, and confused about what to do. :worried:

Is this a huge problem that means my face needs serious work, or is it normal for each pore to contain a little bit of white?

This is terrible for your face! Please stop using it! Your skin naturally produces sebum, an oil found in all your pores, which moisturizes, coats, and protects your skin. This is what people refer to as “natural oils.” By using this tool excessively, you are seriously disrupting your skin’s natural barrier and oil balance. All that sebum is meant to stay in your pores. I recommend you (and your fiancé) never use that tool again. Instead, try using face products like serums or toners to address blackheads or whiteheads. These products are more effective at solving the problem while maintaining your skin’s natural health.

Try the primrose supplement. My gynecologist recommended it for PMS, but I noticed my acne disappearing and my skin improving within two weeks! I’ve had acne for years and tried everything, but I always had 2-3 spots on my face. This worked brilliantly for me. I asked my boyfriend and sister to try it too, and their acne was gone in two weeks! It’s worth a shot since it’s a supplement and has no side effects.

@LilyGlow Is that white sebum? Whoa! That should be here, I know. Aw, shucks! The white seemed like awful stuff to me!

I’ve been there too, with the fascination and the shock at what’s hiding in your pores! When I first started using a comedone extractor, I was amazed at how much was lurking beneath the surface, which left me feeling pretty overwhelmed. I learned that it’s common for pores to have some buildup, but overusing the tool can irritate your skin and lead to more issues. It’s best to use it sparingly and complement it with a gentle skincare routine—think cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing. If you’re feeling lost, consider seeing a dermatologist to help create a balanced plan for your skin’s needs.
