Are there any recommendations for a more hygienic shower accessory than a loofah? It turns out that using my hands alone isn’t an option because I have to use more products. After all, the soap doesn’t bubble up as much.
Ahhh my time to shine! Obligatory YMMV:
- Baiden mitten is great and easy and you can just throw it in the wash
- diff terrytowels of varying textures, abrasiveness and quality
- body brushes, from soft to rough
- DIY scrubs - I legit pulsed a bunch of random grains, rice, coffee etc and it was SO SCRUBBY
Using your hands is pretty useless cos your body is covered with pores and they need something to actually clean them with a bit of texture
I am super in love with these silicone scrub gloves. They’re extremely gentle and way more sanitary.
I have a couple Lunatec washcloths that I’ve had for at least four years and they still look basically new. I hardly ever wash them and they never smell or look gross, although I’m sure they still have their fair share of bacteria on them. Only caveat is that they’re really scrubby, so I probably wouldn’t recommend them for someone with sensitive skin, and for everyone else, I’d say to be gentle when you scrub. I think a salux cloth is basically the same thing, although perhaps a little less exfoliating and therefore easier on your skin. Either of these is probably less prone to getting funky (I won’t say they’re bacteria-proof) just because they don’t hold water and they dry so quickly.
Honestly, if want something really clean in the shower, why not get washcloths and swap out with a clean one every day? If you don’t like cotton terry ones, maybe linen would work?
