I’m really starting to care about my skincare and figuring out what moisturizer works best. Lately, I’ve tried a few and they only keep my skin hydrated for a little while, like 30 minutes to a few hours, then it’s back to being dry. I used Cetaphil, but it didn’t help much and left my skin feeling sticky, and Hada Labo Premium worked for a few hours but then dried out and caused me to break out a bit.
Is this how it’s supposed to be? Should moisturizer only give a quick boost to my skin? Or does it actually help with long-term hydration and repair? If it does, is there any evidence that shows it helps with lasting hydration or even with anti-aging?
Moisturizer is more than just a short-term solution. There’s a lot of research showing why moisturizing is key, like how well-hydrated skin makes it easier to create collagen and elastin. It helps speed up the healing of small injuries, can prevent scarring, protects your skin barrier, and keeps moisture in to boost natural hyaluronic acid levels.
What matters is being consistent – moisturize twice a day, every day.
