Any Recommendations for Affordable Skincare Brands with High-Quality Products?

Hey guys, have you heard of Good Molecules? I stumbled upon their hyaluronic acid serum for just $6 and decided to give it a shot. I was skeptical because of the price, but wow, it’s completely transformed my skin! No more dry patches, and it keeps my skin hydrated all day. I’m really impressed and thinking of trying more of their products. I just ordered The Ordinary’s caffeine eye serum, but after that, I’m eyeing Good Molecules’ gel. I’ve also started using a retinoid and it’s been great. Now, I’m looking to add an AHA into my routine. Any recommendations for other affordable brands with high-quality products like these?

Absolutely! I love their hyaluronic acid, it’s my go-to skincare item. Affordable and it really works. Personally, I’m also a big fan of The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid Toner; I use it on nights between my tretinoin applications to prevent any flaking.

If you’re new to using exfoliating acids, it’s best to begin with gentle ones. If you find that your skin tolerates them well and you’re looking for more potency, then you can move on to stronger acids.

The Ordinary offers mild exfoliating acids in this sequence: Mandelic acid, Azelaic acid, and Lactic acid 5%. Mandelic and Azelaic acids can be used daily if your skin tolerates them. Azelaic acid has anti-inflammatory properties and helps with redness and discoloration. It also provides gentle exfoliation, mild pore cleansing, acts as an antioxidant, and stimulates collagen production.

I have another question regarding azelaic acid. I’m interested in trying it out, but I recently started using adapalene. How long should I wait before incorporating azelaic acid into my skincare routine?

In my experience, I’d suggest waiting until you’ve become accustomed to Adapalene and can tolerate it well before introducing azelaic acid.
