Anyone know what the difference is between these 2? Neutrogena is slick with their product changes. Both say Water Gel

Earlier this year I decided to start using moisturizer and idk if it works or helps but I love how this stuff isn’t greasy and it’s cooling!!! It feels so good regardless haha! I’m 37 and finally noticed my face aging last year and I was told to use this and retinol. Instead of the retinol that was suggested, I just used Neutrogena retinol cream. It seems VERY light as I can use it 3x per week and not have any redness or irritation. I’m also open to better alternatives but mostly my analytical brain is going CRAZY over their slight name changes and formula changes. Sure one says fragrance-free, but hyaluronate is higher in the ingredients list than the one advertised as HYLARUNONIC!!!

The biggest difference is that one has fragrance and color (things that can cause irritation), while one has a lot of different amino acids (things that can help your skin). I’d go for the fragrance-free one with amino acids.

I like the fragrance-free one too!!!

that’s the one on the right correct?

I’m so excited this is fragrance-free now!

Fragrance-free one is the winner IMO. No fragrance = no drying alcohols, no color additive = no irritation, and sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) is higher up on the list = more concentrated = more hydration

I knew they made a new formula but that was quite a while back. They didn’t discontinue the old one? I assumed they didn’t remove the fragrance with the new formula and that this was a special fragrance-free version so are you sure? If so, I want to go with the new one. But it seems like it’s only a small size. I don’t mind the smell of their gel, but it would be cool to try one that doesn’t have the fragrance. As far as retinol, what do you mean by more consistency? And what do you mean I can do a number on your skin? Just being red right? I don’t get much redness with the Neutrogena retinol.

Even Walmarts own app is making this claim

Yup. They definitely have the non-fragrance option for the reformulated versions bc that’s the one I’m using now. I think they did keep a version of the old formula around. At least I’ve seen them on Amazon. That part I’m not too sure of so don’t quote me there.

The fragrance-free one on the right is the new water gel formula. There is also a new water cream, which is similar but contains isopropyl palmitate which makes it thicker and creamier - it is also fragrance-free. They introduced the new formulas about a year ago and it seemed like were discontinuing the original versions (they disappeared from stores in my area), however a lot of people complained because they loved the originals and hated the new formulas. After a few months, I started seeing the original fragranced version in new packaging which is the one on the left of your photo.

I didn’t like the original formulas but like both of the new ones, particularly the water cream. It’s more hydrating and feels so nice on my skin.

One is fragrance-free, so it’s much less likely to irritate your skin. If you don’t have sensitive skin or allergies, it doesn’t really matter which one you pick. But if you have acne, eczema, rosacea, or just sensitive skin, choose the fragrance-free one.
