Why or why not? What are the differences between face moisturizer and body moisturizer in general?
I have been using Jergen’s Skin Smoothing body lotion (Says it has alpha hydroxy in it) on my face. I love it. Also, I’m not sure why but one day I decided to mix it with my foundation and I have been doing it for about a month now. My skin has stopped breaking out! I have bad cystic acne, lots of PIH, and rolling scars, and the thick foundation that I have to use to cover it up makes it worse. I have no idea why it is working so well for me other than maybe thinning it down is helping. My point with all of this is you never know until you try, and sometimes something really good comes out of it.
Depends on what’s in it. Lots of body creams and lotions have lanolin and other moisturizers that wouldn’t do well on facial skin or just need a light touch. One that’s nearly universally praised though is Cerave. They have a day moisturizer with SPF and a great nighttime moisturizer as well, but people swear by the body cream in the tub and use it for everything. Relatively inexpensive too.
I got my Cerave for use on the face and thought it would last forever, given how big the tub is. Two weeks on and it’s more than a quarter gone because it’s such a great body moisturizer.
Old post but been using CeraVe as my only aftershave product. I can say it’s the best moisturizer for my face I’ve used. Some are just too thick and don’t absorb well or stink with fragrance.
My girlfriend uses body lotion on her face… and has better skin than me! She doesn’t even really try either…
I think you can, with caution. Body lotion tends to be more comedogenic and contains more fragrance.
However, throughout my teenage years, I used Vaseline cocoa butter body lotion on my face and had pretty much perfect skin. So, it depends.
Body moisturizer tends to be thicker, sold in larger bottles, and cheaper/oz. You can use if on your face if you want
