I need help finding a moisturizer for my combination, acne-prone, and sensitive skin. My T-zone is oily, but my skin has been drier this winter.
I was using Kiehl’s oil-free lotion, but I discovered it contains alcohol as the third ingredient, and it was not moisturizing enough. I prefer fragrance-free products to avoid irritation and want something clean. Sephora’s options often have fragrances or are too expensive.
I have been using my sister’s CeraVe cream (the one in the tub) since I ran out of moisturizer, but it is too thick for me. I don’t like heavy creams, but I also don’t want ultra-light ones that leave me feeling dry.
Here are a few options I am considering, and I need some input. Feel free to suggest other products!
La Roche-Posay Toleriane line (not sure which one to choose)
Cosrx Snail 92 Cream (heard good things but might be hard to find)
Clinique Moisture Surge (people say it’s good, though I’m usually wary of gels)
Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream (had good reviews)
Please share any recommendations! I’m looking to buy one ASAP!
@admin You might enjoy the Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion if you find the Cerave cream to be too thick. It is much lighter and thinner than before, but it still provides moisture. Since dry skin is more fluid, this is good hydration for it. It feels, to me, like gel cream in a bottle. For my combination complexion, I use it every day. However, since I recently started taking adapalene 0.1% and it’s making me drier than normal, I applied two layers.
Although I haven’t tried the Cosrx All-in-One Snail cream, I adore the essence of snails. My favorite, which I will always buy again. incredibly calming and moisturizing. That being said, some folks find the texture slimy.
@Dario I’m grateful. I’ll investigate the essence because I’ve heard of it and think I’ve seen it in some local stores. Cerave lotion is labeled as being for dry skin. Do you believe it should be safe for someone with oily skin to use? The weather has made my skin dry right now, and I still have an oily t zone. I will, however, definitely check into it. I’m grateful.
The Innisfree jelly cream isn’t exactly a moisturizer on its own. It’s more like a moisturizing primer. I wouldn’t use it alone, but rather on top of a light moisturizer to achieve a “glass skin” appearance.
I have combo skin, with my t-zone being oily and other parts being DRY due to the climate I live in. I use the Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream and it works like a dream: absorbs well, non-greasy yet moisturizing, fragrance free & clean. Really helps keep my under eyes hydrated too. It hasn’t clogged my pores at all from what I’ve noticed. It is pricey but one small jar has lasted me about ~3 months. Would recommend.
