Do You Have a Favorite Azelaic Acid? - Recommendations

Hi all…

I’ve recently started incorporating Azelaic Acid into my skincare routine, and I’m really pleased with the results so far. Currently, I’m using Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid and have seen some great improvements. However, I’m curious about whether a higher percentage might be more effective or if sticking with the 10% is sufficient for long-term results.

A bit about my skin: I have combination skin that is also sensitive and prone to rosacea.

Do you have a favorite Azelaic Acid product? And do you think it’s worth moving to a higher percentage, or should I continue with the 10% for now? I’d love to hear your experiences and recommendations

Hey therapists
For added benefits, look for products that have supplementary components like hyaluronic acid or niacinamide.

It’s great to hear you’re seeing improvements with Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid! For sensitive skin and rosacea, the 10% concentration is often sufficient and well-tolerated. Higher percentages, like 15% or 20%, can be more effective but might increase the risk of irritation, especially for sensitive skin. If you’re experiencing good results with the 10%, it’s usually best to stick with it. If you’re considering a higher concentration, consult with a dermatologist first to ensure it’s appropriate for your skin type and condition. As for recommendations, many people find products from The Ordinary or Skinceuticals effective, but personal experience and tolerance vary, so patch testing any new product is always a good idea.
