Hello everyone…
I got off birth control last year at 42, and I’ve noticed that my skin quality seemed to go downhill within a month or two. It’s pretty noticeable—more wrinkles, dullness, and just an overall older appearance. I’m wondering if the lack of hormones could be causing me to age suddenly? Has anyone else experienced this in their 40s? Any advice on how to manage or improve my skin quality would be greatly appreciated…
Thanks in advance…
I would say that it’s more of aging than birth control.
Birth control pills are responsible for a high amount of triglycerides in the blood. Now this compound is not responsible for aging but it can cause skin complications, so it can be hard to link birth control pills to aging
It is unfair to discredit her experience. The human body is subjective and reacts to foreign substances differently. The best move she could make is talk to a dermatologist who might be best versed to answer her concerns
I agree. Have you also noticed how @Michelle_Heyman is mentioning pills? But the author of the post didn’t mention taking any birth control pills.
