Going to Korea! What’s your favourite Korean skincare brands/product recommendations for a total newbie?

I’m going to Korea this week and am a total noob when it comes to skincare. I’ve heard Korea has great skincare products so looking to hear what the favorites are on this subreddit so I can purchase them when I’m out there!

I have combination skin, dark under-eye circles, and some pigmentation on my skin. My current routine is just a cheap cleanser and a cheap moisturizer in the PM, AM I just use an SPF 30 moisturiser. I’m in my late 20s, so some anti aging product recs would be good too.

Hello there,

It appears that you might be trying to find out more about dark circles. Have you read this article?
Please report this comment so my handlers can remove it if you find that I am responding to something that is not relevant (such as something that is mentioned in a routine). Salutations!

Yes especially a salicylic acid soap bar, works best when u leave it on for 30 seconds to a minute.

Try washing your face and body with panoxyl daily. Make sure you rub it around for a good amount of time. Give yourself a little massage if you can. I swear by this stuff. Cleared my chest and face acne right up. It does come back after a while of not using it, so I just use it with my body wash every day. My favorite body wash right now is the salicylic acid wash from Naturium. They sell it at Target. A bit pricey, but worth it. Any salicylic acid body wash or antibacterial body wash should help you out. I like Dove’s antibacterial soap personally.

Also recommend using old towels to dry off. Benzoyl Peroxide stained my beautiful expensive towel. It seems to bleach everything.

stop using a lofa and get a Korean shower glove, it should be abrasive and almost feel like sandpaper when dry. when showering stay under the water for like 5mins to let the skin soften and then go crazy with the shower glove.

This sounds like a plan! Thanks, I’ll try this out

Have you tried adding a stronger chemical exfoliant that you can leave on? I would recommend a 10% glycolic acid toner, peel pad, etc. :blue_heart:

Stop physically exfoliating (loofa, etc) and start chemically exfoliating- salicylic acid, for example. It’s more targeted and antibacterial, and it doesn’t reintroduce bacteria to the area with every use. Go see a derm if you can.

Wash your hair regularly and change your pillowcase every few days.
