Has anyone used an extractor for blackheads? Does it damage or benefit skin?

I am referring to one of these items. Do they perform as promised? Which ones are the best or most equal? How can I prevent the blackhead from reopening immediately? I would use it only on blackheads, not pimples.

Just let me know if you have any experience with it.

I’ve used a few of these products myself, and I can say they do work, but results can vary. From my experience, the best ones are those with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide—they tend to be effective without being too harsh. To prevent blackheads from coming back right away, consistency is key. Make sure to cleanse your face regularly and avoid products that could clog your pores. If you’re only dealing with blackheads, not pimples, focusing on gentle exfoliation and using targeted treatments can really help.

I have two: one from Ulta’s line, which is terrible, and one from Tweezerman, which is highly recommended. They work incredibly well in pulling out ingrown hairs as well, however if you’re anything like me and you can’t stop picking at your skin, I wouldn’t recommend buying them. Unless I know I can control myself not to freak out over a supposed pimple or blackhead, I keep them hidden in a drawer.

In my research on skincare, I’ve found that blackhead removal tools, such as comedone extractors, pore strips, and suction devices, can be effective if used correctly. Pore strips can provide immediate results by removing surface blackheads but may not prevent them from returning. Comedone extractors, if used properly, can remove blackheads without damaging the skin, while suction devices offer a more thorough clean but require careful use to avoid irritation. To prevent blackheads from reopening, it’s crucial to maintain a consistent skincare routine that includes exfoliation, cleansing, and moisturizing, along with using non-comedogenic products to avoid clogging pores.
