Hi! I am an idiot. Three days ago I fell asleep in the sun with my Epiduo Forte cream still on, no sunscreen, and of course got burnt badly. But it’s not so much a sunburn as it is a chemical burn. My skin’s texture is incredibly rough and does not seem to be peeling anytime soon. I cannot put makeup on it at all, which sucks because I have a wedding to be in in two days. Is there anything I can do to fix this faster? I’ve been religiously applying Cicaplast to no avail.
Cerave healing ointment - it’s a blue tube. Apply it religiously over the next few days.
Adding to my original comment:
The crave will help your skin shed. Stop all skincare until this heals fully.
The healing ointment is exactly what I would recommend, too. Just stay slathered in it as it heals.
A friend of mine did the same thing. She used Cicaplast too, but it was not a quick solution, you will need to apply a thick layer for at least a week. After that you may remain with scars, vitamin C would help with that. Good luck!
The Cicalfate+ from Avene is always my go to for any skin issues!
Have you tried aloe :)!! That stuff is amazing at healing things I use it for anything it hydrates and heals
Barrier repair creams from Skinfix and First aid beauty have some rich creams for this purpose
Sorry it happened to you. I would recommend panthenol based cream that heals burns and wounds. If it’s not nourishing enough, maybe add Vaseline over top to seal the cream for added effectiveness.
I’ve also used hydrocortisone cream (healing formula) from Walmart when I had burns from Tret and Adapalene in the past. It was quite helpful.
Lotion n aloe n no actives until it heals
I’ve seen people going through peeling treatments going through this… You got it naturally
Stop all skincare for a while. Go minimal and fragrance-free. Try Seabuckthorn Oil. Patch test any product before using it on your face.
