How do you all feel about Cetaphil?

I love Cetaphil’s gentle cleanser for my dry, sensitive skin, even though I have oily patches and acne-prone areas. Most of my skin is dry, and I think my acne is due to stress, hormones, and picking.

Since other cleansers have irritated my skin, I stopped trying new ones, but I still break out regularly. Should I try other cleansers? Many of you seem to like CeraVe, which I’ve never tried but seems similar to Cetaphil.

A few years ago, when I spent a summer in a dry part of the Middle East, my skin cleared up. I am not sure if it was the lack of stress or the dry weather. My skin is both oily and dry/flaky, and stress makes it worse.

Any advice?

Managing dry, acne-prone skin can be tricky, but there are ways to keep it under control. Use noncomedogenic products to avoid clogging pores and choose ingredients like salicylic acid and niacinamide that treat acne without drying out your skin. Moisturizing is key, even if you have oily patches—go for a noncomedogenic moisturizer with ingredients like glycerin and shea butter.

Stick to gentle cleansers and avoid overwashing your face; once a day is enough. Consider your environment, especially if you live in a dry climate, and try to manage stress, as it can affect your skin.

If you need extra help, don’t hesitate to consult a dermatologist. CeraVe products are a great option for dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. Their Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser is especially gentle and effective. Be patient with your skincare routine and adjust based on your skin’s response.
