I stopped washing my face and acne went away

I might be losing it, but my acne was severe when I followed a full skincare routine with cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer. However, when I completely stopped using cleansers, my skin significantly improved. Now I just wash with water and use moisturizer and sunscreen, and my acne has gone from severe to mild-moderate. Has anyone else noticed a similar improvement after stopping the use of most skincare products (except moisturizer and sunscreen)?

Skincare routine isn’t always the real deal.
I also do know a few women on YouTube who have nice skin just by only washing their faces with water and a bit of eye makeup remover.
No soap, no cleanser.

Skin health typically benefits from simplicity. Many people discover that using fewer skincare products and emphasizing moisturizing, sunscreen, and gentle washing reduces the severity of acne. Though highly varied, personal experiences all support the benefits of simplicity.

I felt like the breakouts were inevitable and hormonal—just part of the natural state of my skin. Since I’ve eliminated cleansers from my routine, I’ve only had one to two hormonal, cystic pimples in six months (and even then, I think they were stress-induced).

I stopped washing my face and my acne disappeared. Previously, I always had at least one pimple. When I ran out of cleanser, I started using cold cream instead. My skin has been clear for 2 months now. It’s been a total game changer for me!
