Hey everyone, I’m battling some pesky breakouts and keep seeing CeraVe recommended for acne-prone skin. While their cleansers sound interesting, I’m wondering if they’re truly effective. Can CeraVe really help clear up acne, or is it just hype? Anyone out there with experience using CeraVe for acne? Spill the tea

I never had much success with CeraVe. I tried both their cleansers; one dried out my skin, and the other didn’t clean well and left a residue. La Roche Posay works better for me than CeraVe.
For hormonal cystic acne, I use Panoxyl on my chin when I have breakouts. Adding azelaic acid has also been amazing for my skin.

I use Walgreens. Cerave dupes for their cleanser and moisturizer and have always had good results with them, but perhaps I’m just lucky.

For hormonal cystic acne breakouts I have a tube of Panoxyl that I use specifically for when I have breakouts around my chin. Also adding azelaic acid has worked wonders so far!

Hello, NellySmith. I tried every single Cerave skincare brand, and none of them worked for me. It made my skin extremely sensitive and worsened my acne. I’m still working on getting my regimen perfect.
If you were given retinol, I went through purging. It could cause breakouts if you use the moisturizing lotion (at least it did for me).
