Is Fresh Creme Ancienne worth it?

Hey everyone,

Someone recently suggested I try the Fresh Creme Ancienne as a daily moisturizer. For those who have used it, do you think it’s worth the high price? I am 26 with combination skin that is becoming more dry, and I am getting more serious about my skincare. I have a regular routine but keep switching products and want to find something consistent.

The cream costs $290 for 3.5 oz at Sephora, and there Is a 15% off deal for beauty insiders coming up. I can afford it, but I do not want to spend that much if it’s just okay. If anyone has other recommendations for good hydrating and anti-aging moisturizers, I would love to hear them!

If you’re considering it but need to budget, there are other great options. For a gentle anti-aging moisturizer, try Alpyn Beauty Melt Moisturizer with Bakuchiol and Squalane. In winter, you can layer it with an oil like Biossance Squalane + Tea Tree, Herbivore Emerald CBD, or The Ordinary Squalane for extra moisture without being too heavy.

The Fresh Crème Ancienne is a luxurious product with a dedicated following. It’s often praised for its rich texture, intense hydration, and noticeable improvement in skin texture. However, given its high price point, it’s understandable to be hesitant. While it might be a game-changer for some, it’s not necessarily a universal holy grail. Many other effective moisturizers are available at a fraction of the cost.

Alternatives to Consider:

Given your skin type and concerns, you might want to explore these options:

  • CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: This drugstore favorite is incredibly hydrating and gentle, suitable for sensitive and combination skin.
  • La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer: Another drugstore option that provides intense hydration and soothes irritated skin.
  • Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Hydra-Gel: This lightweight moisturizer offers hydration and gentle exfoliation.

Before Making a Final Decision:

  • Patch Test: Even high-end products can cause irritation.
  • Trial Size: If available, try a sample or smaller size first.
  • Skin Consultation: Consider consulting with a dermatologist or esthetician for personalized recommendations.

Fresh Crème Ancienne is worth it for those seeking a luxurious, handcrafted moisturizer with natural ingredients and rich texture. It provides intense hydration and anti-aging benefits, but its high price may not justify the cost for everyone.

I’ve had a similar experience with choosing high-end skincare products. Fresh Creme Ancienne is indeed a luxurious choice and has received praise for its rich, hydrating properties, especially for those with combination skin becoming drier. However, it’s quite pricey, so if you’re looking for something more budget-friendly yet effective, consider options like CeraVe’s Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum or Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel, which also offer excellent hydration and anti-aging benefits without breaking the bank. If you’re leaning toward the Fresh Creme Ancienne, the 15% off deal could make it a bit more worthwhile, but exploring other reputable brands could help you find a consistent and effective routine at a better price.

Yes, it is negative because ageing is a natural process in the body; nevertheless, these creams contain substances that reduce the ageing process of the body’s cells. These can occasionally lead to health issues.

Yes, it can, and it won’t hurt if you use a moisturizing mask before bed to keep your face smooth and youthful. Your face has muscles, just like your arm or hand, and working skin cream into them is nothing but a plus. There are no negative side effects to using a skin cream.
