Is Olive Oil Good for Acne-Prone Skin?

Hey guys, have you heard about using olive oil for acne-prone skin? I came across a tip on here to try it when my face was really dry and I was dealing with constant breakouts. I decided to stop using all my other skincare products, including tretinoin, and just stuck to my nighttime face wash, sunscreen, and EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL.

I used to struggle with dark spots from picking and hormonal acne, especially around my eyebrows, chin, and cheeks. They would often get flaky. Now, I only have one acne spot left that’s almost faded completely.

Here’s my new routine: In the morning, I wake up, skip face wash, apply olive oil all over my face and let it absorb, then follow up with sunscreen. I’m using extra virgin olive oil straight from Italy because I feel like the quality matters for the best results, you know?

At night, I wash my face with TONYMOLY I’m Rice Exfoliating Face Wash, then use olive oil again before bed. It’s super easy, and I’ve even stopped using foundation. I’m really happy with how my skin looks now, and I hope this could help others too!

Olive oil can be beneficial for acne-prone skin due to its moisturizing and antioxidant properties. It helps maintain the skin’s natural moisture barrier and has anti-inflammatory effects that can soothe acne-prone skin

Olive oil is generally not recommended for acne-prone skin due to its potential to clog pores and cause breakouts. Instead, non-comedogenic oils like jojoba or tea tree oil are better options for acne-prone skin care.

Olive oil is reputed to possess anti-inflammatory properties and is believed by some to alleviate acne, moisturize the skin, and shield it from future damage. It can be incorporated into an oil cleansing method, where you massage oil onto your skin to help clear pores and eliminate excess sebum.
