As many of you may know, Biore has discontinued the Japanese version of their UV Watery Essence SPF, which I absolutely adored. I recently tried ordering the updated version available in the US, but unfortunately, it just doesn’t compare.
I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for Asian sunscreens, but many of them include a moisturizing component. I’m looking for something that has a similar feel and consistency to the original Japanese Biore UV Watery Essence but without the moisturizing aspect. This would be great for layering over a separate moisturizer or for applying on children’s faces.
If anyone has any recommendations for alternatives that fit this description, I would greatly appreciate your help! Thank you!
I totally get where you’re coming from. The Biore UV Watery Essence is amazing, but if you’re looking for a non-moisturizing alternative, you might want to try the Kose Suncut UV Protect Gel.
If you’re looking for a sunscreen similar in feel to the original Japanese Biore UV Watery Essence but without added moisturizers, you might want to try Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Gel. It offers a lightweight, watery texture with high SPF protection, making it suitable for layering over a separate moisturizer or applying on children’s faces. Another good option is Kose Suncut UV Perfect Essence, which also has a non-greasy, water-like consistency and provides effective sun protection without the added moisturizing elements. Both options are well-regarded and could give you a similar experience to the Biore UV Watery Essence you loved.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve been searching for a sunscreen that has the same lightweight, watery feel as the original Japanese Biore UV Watery Essence but without the extra moisturizers.
