Oner - I hate messing with cotton pads. Is it okay to just spray it on and leave it? That’s what I have been doing but then I saw someone say that when they do that, they still wipe it off with a pad. That defeats my laziness LOL

Spray it and leave it. Most don’t need to be wiped off which is just waiting product.

I pour it into my hand and rub it around my face but a spray will be fine.

Spraying is a great option but be careful what kind of toner you spray as some can be too harsh for the eyes!

I use a replica cut glass vintage perfume bottle, completely with a squeezy bulb and gold tassel. Works great!

holy crap my eyes lit up at this

I highly recommend it. I’ve got mine as a centerpiece on a vintage mirrored filagree vanity tray, and I love it.

I might steal that idea! Did you repurpose an old perfume bottle or did you buy an empty one somewhere?

Who tf is wiping off toners? Unless you’re using a cleansing toner, which you shouldn’t be, there’s zero purpose to that and it’s counterproductive. So stop using cotton pads and also stop using cleansing-type toners :joy:

I do. Well, I don’t wipe them off, but I do use a pad to apply the first layer. I have to get leftover cleanser and hard water minerals off my skin. But after the first layer, I use my hands to apply. I would imagine that using a pad for the follow-up layers would just remove the toner.

Esthi here, cotton pads aren’t necessary for applying toner (: toner was primarily created and still used for removing any traces of dirt/debris/cleanser left in the face. Most toners nowadays have lots of active ingredients and hydrating ingredients, making the need to be sparse with it no longer a concern. For me, I put the toner in my hand and spread it around my face and pat it in. (:

Spray it and leave it! It’s a misconception to use a toner with a cotton pad. It just wastes the product. The toner (esp if no actives) is mostly to balance your pH and prep your skin, there no need to wipe!

I spray mine on, then I use my hyaluronic acid serum on top while my face is a little drippy. Both lazy and smart over here.

if its hydrating toner you are talking about, yes you can do that. i have the non-spray bottle one so all I do is just put it on my hand and then tap it to my face. if it’s exfoliating toner i think cotton pads are necessary.

You don’t need it for chemical exfoliators either

yes I do use a pad for scrubbing on a PC BHA one that I have but otherwise, it’s spray and go

Spray, or if it’s not in a spray bottle, I just put some in my hands and pat it onto my face. I do the same with liquid exfoliants, I only need a few drops. This also makes the product last longer, since none is being absorbed by a cotton pad.

I just pour it into my hands and put it on my face, but spraying it works too

I’m not sure why anyone would take a cotton round after applying it.

For some toners, I just apply it to my hands and dab it on my face. I also recently got medicine toner pads, so easy. I just literally grab one and go. I got their zero pores 2.0 one and the vitamin C one.

I’ve noticed that when I use a cotton pad there will be a brown residue on it. It’s most probably excess sebum as I can only use gentle face wash on my sensitive skin. Using a cotton pad helps my skin feel cleaner and less oily throughout the day which means fewer breakouts for me. I’m very surprised that most users commenting here don’t have the same experience.

I use pads for the first swipe to get residue and hard water buildup off my skin. But any layers after that I apply with my hands.
