I have been having intermittent problems with my lips for the past few months, and this week they are back with a bang. They have essentially been painfully chapping just above and below my lips. Since it always becomes worse shortly after I wake up, I can only guess that I lick my lips when I sleep.
Although I haven’t tried it yet, I’ve read that applying Vaseline immediately before bed might help keep my lips hydrated. I was wondering if switching from the original Vaseline was worthwhile when I came across a version with cocoa butter while conducting research. Have any of you successfully treated chapped lips with either one?
My ex-boyfriend had the same problem, it wasn’t anything about licking lips, just that he had some skin condition (redacted).
In general, Vaseline can help with chapped lips, especially when applied before bedtime. I would also recommend Vaseline with cocoa butter since this product has nourishing value for the skin, especially making it feel smooth and soft.
Choosing between regular Vaseline and Vaseline with cocoa butter depends on your needs. Regular Vaseline provides simple, effective moisture protection. Vaseline with cocoa butter adds a pleasant scent and extra moisturizing benefits, making it suitable for those seeking enhanced skin care.
butter made of cocoa. It’s okay because my skin doesn’t react to smell. My skin responds well to regular cocoa butter, and since I adore Vaseline, the combination is ideal. It also smells pretty good.
