I’ve been using Kolua hard wax beads for coarse hair (the blue beads). I have done a lot of research on YouTube and got it to the right temp and consistency but I can’t get it to spread and create a lip. One swipe and it gets hard and stringy. I tried getting it warmer, hot enough that I got burned, yet the same problem. On YouTube they spread it so nicely and were able to create a lip, but for me, no luck. It’s as if I’m spreading it on frozen skin! Is it the wax I’m using or what?
How are you heating the wax? Are you leaving it on the stick for a long time before applying it to your skin?
Idk what wax I use but the only time this happens to me is if I let it stay on the stick too long before applying it to my skin.
I use a wax warmer pot. I leave the stick in the wax to keep the stick warm, then I pull it out and twist it until I break the strand, then quickly spread it on. By the time I get to the bottom, it becomes all stringy and dry. I don’t know if may be because it is wax for coarse hair. The wax demo I see on YouTube it’s like they’re smearing honey, with plenty of time to smear and create that lip at the end to pick it up and lift it off. With this wax, I’m left with a thin mess to pick at to try and lift it so I can rip it off. I’m wondering if it’s maybe because it’s coarse hair wax, or maybe I need to heat up the room hotter or have a space heater blowing on me. Idk. That’s why I’m here seeking help!
I use this same wax. Are you trying to do too large of an area at a time? It kind of sounds like maybe you don’t have enough wax on your stick.
