Hi everyone!! I’m 22F with oily dehydrated skin and rosacea. I’ve been experimenting with skincare since i was 15 and this routine has worked the best so far but i still struggle with redness on my cheeks, chin and nose. What can i add to reduce the redness? (sorry for my English, it’s not my first language)
Azelaic acid. I have a 15% prescription gel which is very affordable in my country
Second this. I use azelaic acid 15% and tret .05%. Done wonders for me in 3.5 months

That’s exactly what I’m doing. WONDERS. I can’t believe what I’m seeing honestly, and I’m so happy
Im sorry but isnt it a bit too much? For any kind of acne I always heard and personally preferred to minimalise amount of products used as its harder to detect which one caused some irritation or smth.
I wouldnt add anything and if so then I would remove.
It may be for some people. I’ve tried using fewer/different products but as i wrote this routine has worked the best so far, my skin feels smooth and i rarely have pimples. My only problem is the redness caused by rosacea.
Everyone is different. My acne didn’t go away until I added a bunch of products to my routine. Daily I use about 8 different ones and my skin is the clearest it’s ever been. I tried the minimalist way for years and it did nothing.
Yeah ok but its not that rare that people think more=better and then use products that contradict each other. I dont think its the case here as OP is concious about every product used and its role so yeah but you cant say thats the case for everyone
I would pair down to a more minimal routine for rosacea since the barrier is often compromised and rosaceans often have sensitive skin as well.
I’d keep the CeraVe cleanser and moisturizer and add in Finacea (Azelaic Acid 10 or 15%). Start with every other day and make sure your skin is absolutely bone dry before application, otherwise it will itch like crazy if applied to moist or damp skin.
Head over to r/rosacea, there’s a lot of solid advice there.
I found the rosacea sub to be quite unhelpful. SkincareAddiction and Tretinoin subs have been the most helpful in my rosacea journey x
You should only be using one water-based cleanser at night. Are you alternating between those two? A lot of people get confused by the name of the CeraVe Oil Foaming Cleanser, but it’s not an oil cleanser, so wouldn’t be used as the first step of double cleansing.
Got it! The oil-foaming one is likely better for your skin as well if you’re experiencing any dryness or dehydration.
Pretty sure the standard rosacea treatments are azelaic acid cream and/or ivermectin cream. So i would start there
The Reinigungsöl is not an actual oil cleanser, but a cleanser with oils. So you are using a double water base cleanser, that is not bad for oily skin but maybe to irritating for you.
Ivermectin and azaleic acid. You don’t have any actives here that specifically treat rosacea.
Ivermectin, Azaleic acid, and niacinimide is a great combo and can be made into one gel so you’re not using several products, but I believe it is prescription. It does wonders for my rosacea used daily.
thank you!! I’m going to try azelaic acid
Make sure you moisturize well after too
You would save a lot of money by simply going to the dermatologist and getting a prescription.
