What is the Sink Water Filter Baby?

I ended up buying one after seeing a couple tiktoks. Apparently it filters out a lot of contaminants that could irritate sensitive skin.

I bought it for around $50-60 and then 3 months later I got charged FORTY BUCKS for a filter replacement??? I knew I had a replacement filter subscription with the purchase but I didn’t expect it to be nearly the same price of the filter itself. Actual jumpscare!!

Anyways, since it’s so expensive, I tried looking for cheaper alternatives. I haven’t found any other sink filter specifically for the skin. Would a drinking water filter work the same?? Anyone who would understand the science behind it please give input :smiling_face_with_tear: I cannot afford these pricey replacement filters!! I tried looking for any other discussions on filterbaby, but no one’s really talking about it. And most of the comments I found were shills lmao

As for the effectiveness, I really can’t say anything for sure. I suffer from hormonal acne that has yet to be controlled, so not much has changed for me. It does feel good knowing I’m washing my face with clean water though lol

Filter baby is such a scam and worst customer service. I bought my filter baby and although they say it is compatible with 99% of faucets, mine wasn’t. No big deal, their website says they can send you adaptors. Bc my faucet is original I thought why not upgrade to a new one and guarantee it will be compatible. On filter baby website they have a section on compatible faucets with links to Amazon. I ordered the centerset faucet link they listed for less than $30.

I paid a handyman $85 to replace my faucet. Finally I go to install my FB. Still none of the adaptors work! I email support, they tell me to send a pic of the faucet and aerator which I do. They take a few days to get back. I keep folllowing up. Finally someone else responds apologizing saying they will ship my adapter soon and send a tracking number. Fast forward several more days no update. I follow up, they respond again with tracking.

My adaptors arrive in a few days. I try it on - they send me the exact opposite of what I needed (faucet thread is on the outside). I email support again, they’re very sorry and offer me to schedule a zoom call. I reiterate over in email the faucet I purchased IS LISTED on their site. I have to wait and book via their calendar.

I do the call, screenshare, the guy says unfortunately my aerator is slightly too wide and they have NO RESOLUTION. I tell him I literally paid someone to replace my faucet based ok their website. He says he will ask his manager and get back.

Fast forward more days, no update, I follow up. The guy tells me that there’s no resolution but they can offer me two free filters for value of $78 or Do a full refund. I email asking if they can provide a link to a faucet that is compatible I’ll think about it. 4 hours later, I realize I’m done, totally over this product and email saying I’ll just do refund .

Here’s the kicker- the guy then comes back saying he’s very sorry, I’m now PAST my 60 day window and theyre not able to refund me.

What a scam!!! Terrible customer service and the faucet is STILL listed on their site. If It wasn’t for my eczema I would have given up weeks ago, now I’m told I can’t even get a refund.

I know this a super late response, but I was going through Reddit trying to read some reviews on Filterbaby when I stumbled upon your response. They shouldn’t stick you with the charge because they failed to solve your problem within 60 days, that is not your fault. I sincerely hope you disputed the charge with your bank/credit card company. If not, when this happens your first line of defense is trying to resolve with the conpany/seller and next step is to dispute the charge. I hope this was resolved or at least what I said was helpful! :slightly_smiling_face:

I commented on this thread a while back and saw it pop up again - need to give my 2 cents…I moved to a new city and couldn’t figure out how to install the Filterbaby on my faucet, I asked the cs team for help and set up a video call. They were extremely helpful and since I had a Filterbaby 1.0, they offered me the 2.0 for free, all I had to do was pay for shipping.

When I didn’t have my Filterbaby on my sink my skin visibly looked irritated and I started getting the same breakouts I had before switching to filtered water. This is the one part of my skincare routine that is consistent and never fails to deliver.

Based on my experience this company has evolved exponentially based on its response time and willingness to take care of its customers + it’s effectiveness is unmatched. Definitely don’t knock it until you try it, the new generation is so nice!

It’s expensive but worth it imo… I suffered from severe perioral dermatitis and literally spent probably thousands on derms, prescriptions, different products to try to fix it. They were all temporary fixes and it would come back. Turns out it was my water, I tried Filterbaby and I’m not kidding, my skin literally transformed in a week. I was nervous about maintaining due to the cost, and tried using a Pur filter instead. The water quality literally doesn’t even feel the same, idk how to describe it. But my redness and irritation started to come back. After putting Filterbaby back, it went away again. The product is expensive but you pay for quality.

I want to believe you, but I do not. I do Admire your willingness to respond to a post after 5 months tho.

I agree! It is an excellent device, I got mine when it launched, around April-May 2022. My water had chlorine and it would leave my skin very irritated. I was excited when I discovered they were coming out with a water faucet filter! I received it but had an issue, my faucet had a “hidden” aerator, I contacted them on Instagram and they sent out an aerator adapter. I had an issue with delivery but it got sorted at the end. My skin says thanks to Filterbaby, so the problem I had didn’t affect how many stars I gave it since Filterbaby resolved it in 2022. 10/10!

I got filterbaby a few months ago. Didn’t have trouble getting it on my sink, and so far it seems like my skin is slowly clearing up (but I also switched to a more natural cleanser than what I’ve been using for years) I wouldn’t have any problem paying $40 every 3 months to have clear skin. Prescriptions and acne treatments are way pricier than that.

HOWEVER…. a few days ago, the unit started leaking in the middle. When I turn on the water, it pushes the filter apart and water pours out of the gap it makes. I emailed them photos and a video of what’s happening.

They responded and said “This happens to a small percentage of users when the water pressure is too high in certain areas. We are working on a one piece filter design to help prevent this issue in the future.”

They are supposedly sending me a replacement part, not an entirely new unit. They said to make sure to keep my filter refill and attachments. I hope this works and I don’t have problems fixing it.

I will update if anything goes awry

I was skeptical too but after I switched to a PUR filter and immediately started breaking out again so I switched back to Filterbaby.

Definitely pricier but its totally worth it to me and has been the one consistent thing keeping my skin calm. (I have really sensitive skin) Since getting Filterbaby I don’t have to worry about waking up to a new breakout.

Honest to god. I am saving money on skincare from using this filter. I know it seems pricy but there are ways that it also helps you save so i think it’s 100% worth it. I am not spending money on all these acne products anymore and I’m so thankful. Just some good for thought!
