Why does skincare not work on me?

For context I’m 15M. I’m new to skincare and have had moderate acne for a few years. I have slightly red splotches of red on my cheeks and between my eyebrows and a few little pimples on them. I have quite an oily face. My current skincare set is Thursday Plantation set with a foam cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and blemish gel. I use the foam cleanser in the shower and the rest after the shower in the order above (I shower both in the morning and night). I’m a bit confused on the blemish gel because I don’t have any noticeable pimples, only a lot of small ones that I can barely feel but still very much visible so I just spread the blemish gel across all the red splotches which is my whole face. The worst of the red spots and on the crevices on the side of my nose which is also the oiliest part of my face. Before using skincare, I used soap which made my face very dry. I have been using this routine for 2 months but I don’t see a difference. Is there something I’m doing

I had to look up the brand since I’m not familiar with them but it looks like all of their products use tea tree oil? If so, that’s your issue. Tea tree can be fine to use sparingly in the right formulation but it’s easily drying and irritating, especially when overused in too many products or in bad formulations.

Get a gentle hydrating cleanser, basic moisturizer, and sunscreen

Tea tree oil is also an essential oil

It’s possible the products you’re using are not the right for you and could be irritating your skin further. I’d suggest putting those products to the side and getting a simple Cleanser and moisturizer (I would suggest Vanicream Cleanser and Facial Moisturizer) use just those 2 products for a few weeks and if you are still having acne or texture issues look into including an AHA/BHA or possibly adapalene.

Are you looking at any of the ingredients of what you’re using? The steps are similar to what I do in the morning except I don’t use a cleanser and I use sunscreen. (Wash, toner, acne cream, moisutirzer, sunscreen) Begin to use sunscreen regardless

If you’re 15, a lot of skincare won’t have any noticeable effect due to hundreds of factors and hormones. I suggest cleaning and moisturizing, and creating a skincare routine once you reach your 20s.
